White Wall Web UK have recently landed an exciting contract with Schwarzkopf, a subsidiary of Henkel.
Henkel, headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, has about 52,000 employees worldwide and counts among the most internationally aligned German-based companies in the global marketplace.
Schwarzkopf is a leading international hair product company, offering specialist ranges for professionals and for retail consumers.
White Wall Web was commissioned to take two years worth of Swartzkopf’s professionally developed training material licensed under Ask Academy Schwarzkopf and incorporate it into a new Web 2.0 environment for distribution to their practitioners worldwide.
The project is undertaken in partnership with GM Design, a UK based new media design house who have taken responsibility for the ‘look and feel’ aspects of the system and the entry of content (in various languages).
“This was a really important project for us,” says Damo Cross, MD of White Wall Web UK. “This was our first year operating in the UK and it has been really great to land a large project of this nature so early on. It has been integral leveraging off the success and credibility of White Wall Web International.”
The new system will be custom developed using Ruby on Rails, a relatively new technology which has found favour amongst the forerunners of the Web 2.0 revolution and which enables rapid development with quality results.
The White Wall Web team will manage and develop this project between the company’s staff based in Cape Town and Exeter.
The ASK project is scheduled to be completed in early 2008.
